RE: End of an era - Lauritz Melchior - 12-23-2004 12:41 AM

Ya know, while I do feel an emptiness in my spleen; although I am wracked by occassional wistful remembrances; despite the shiver that consumes my soul when I look upon the austere surface of our new forum; in spite of all this, I am excited. This place is ours. Ours to create; ours to mold into whatever hideous monster we wish. But this monster is beautiful. And it is ours.
While we may have grown from our experience, this forum is but beginning. Think of it guys! This tabulum rasum is ours to nurture however we choose! Give it life! Enthuse our forum with our divine spirit, for we are its gods. And though this forum has a life of its own, it is nothing without us. Make it something! And eat an apple every day! Go forth!

p.s. nice avatar Aegof (=B

EDIT: hmm. I need to make my avatar smaller.

RE: End of an era - Aegof - 12-23-2004 12:42 AM

Speaking of avatars, mind making yours much, much smaller?

RE: End of an era - Lauritz Melchior - 12-23-2004 12:43 AM

Yeah! I must agree! Do you think I should just shrink the original picture then update my avatar?

EDIT: hm... Better, but maybe I should shrink it vertically some now...

EDIT2: how's that. I think that once I add a signature the vast sea of white nothingness won't seem so duanting anymore.

RE: End of an era - Applesauce Parker - 12-23-2004 01:47 AM

Yes, a new forum can be a wonderful thing... & I find it really amusing that the forum has existed in this form for less than a day & there are already nearly 1,500 posts in the Spam forum...

It seems like a lot of folks are returning, as everyone seems to know each other already... Plus, maybe there will be a lot of new blood (like yours truly *waves, waits patiently for the hazing ritual to begin*) now that everything is starting off new & there are no ginormous, intimidating post counts...

What. - Aegof - 12-23-2004 01:54 AM

People like their post counts too much, I think.

Not much in the forms of hazing here, aside from that annoying practice of eating people.

So very annoying.

RE: End of an era - Lauritz Melchior - 12-23-2004 01:59 AM

Oh. We also have a habit of welcoming people. So, welcome. *performs ritual dance* If you join ENOTSEULB, then you will have to answer three questions of doom!

RE: End of an era - Applesauce Parker - 12-23-2004 02:19 AM

Funny you should mention cannibalism, as I'm currently making my way through the 'Chopping Block' archives... *peers around to make sure the blinds are closed*

:) Everything sounds cooler with "-of doom" tacked onto the end...

I'm glad there's no elaborate "flame-the-newbie-into-submission" protocol here, unlike many, many forums I'm feeling to ladylike to mention at the moment...

RE: End of an era - Aegof - 12-23-2004 02:21 AM

Yeah, we're awesome like that.

RE: End of an era - Astral Dragon - 12-23-2004 02:38 AM

Oh, you're a lady? Welcome! We get to few of them around here. And I don't want to hear a word out of you or anyone else AEGOF AND NOODLE!

Anyways, welcome again. Have fun helping us rebuild.

RE: End of an era - shaventalz - 12-23-2004 08:19 AM

Welcome to the forum, Applesauce.

Oh, and Astral's a lady. Don't let her tell you otherwise.

RE: End of an era - Shadowhunter - 12-23-2004 08:43 AM

Shaven, you moron. *runs*

RE: End of an era - shaventalz - 12-23-2004 08:53 AM

Its kinda a running gag around here. Don't worry, you'll get used to it.

RE: End of an era - Fighter143 - 12-23-2004 10:30 AM

sigh....was soooo close to 1000 posts...ah well

RE: End of an era - Coron/Koremis - 12-23-2004 01:12 PM

I can't show people my nifty 10K post count anymore but I don't really care.

RE: End of an era - Lauritz Melchior - 12-23-2004 01:30 PM

I was kind of proud of some of my posts. I'll just have to write new ones. They'll be bigger, better, and overpriced.

RE: End of an era - jurjyfrort - 12-23-2004 01:38 PM

The only thing I'm upset about is losing some certain threads, like comic conformity (naturally). But hey, I still remember about where we left off at least, so we can just pick up from there. If we ever get all the way to the end, maybe we can redo the stuff from the beginning! Second quest, woo!

RE: End of an era - Milo - 12-23-2004 02:00 PM

Khrima and Ardam switch story?

RE: End of an era - E-mouse - 12-23-2004 02:23 PM

As I've said before (elsewhere?), that may very well be retrievable. Astral also said that he she probably has his her writing on his her main computer, but since that's being upgraded at the moment, it can't be confirmed. I should probably track it down in my temp files, too...

RE: End of an era - sqweek - 12-23-2004 02:51 PM

rofl! enjoying the strikethrough there i see.

RE: End of an era - Astral Dragon - 12-23-2004 02:58 PM

*explodes E-mouse and Shaven*

They never learn. And they never will. *sigh*
