Not the worst by any means, but... yeah, that sig is kinda pushing it as far as length/annoyance goes. I'm fine with it myself, but it's pretty much on the border.

Yes, it does add some clutter, plus put unnecessary strain on the server by printing it out over and over for EVERY SINGLE POST. Not that we're really paying for it, and it's not much information to transfer since it's just a small bit of text, but we may as well be polite. Especially when the extraneous content is so useless.
You can disable viewing others' sigs if you really want to, but they often help identify other posters and/or what they're interested in, especially if you don't know them offhand. Sometimes they can be interesting, too. But whatever.
(And yes, I realize I need to update mine. I'm just not sure what with.)

I actually saw a cool solution for that on the Wizards.com forums. The sig is only displayed once, at the topmost post that the poster has made on the page.
Don't know if this would be doable in phpBB, though.

Perhaps "Money" can be replaced by "$", though it's value might be interpeted differently.
Abbreviations can be used too, but then newly registered people might not understand them.
Then again, we could remove the row of stars as it is represents pretty much the post rank. Well at least I think they're the same. ^^
And at the last resort, some information can be moved to the bottom row, next to "PM", "Find" etc. If the inventory can be represented as images, they can be put at the bottom and the other icons slided to the right. It'll be shooting games, where you can see all your inventory and weapons at the bottom. Though right now, I quite like the bottom row arrangement.

This would be good. Clears up the, admittedly idle, question of what type the money is. It should also condense the post count and money count to one line of the info pane. Although this is probably entirely dependent on monitor size, I dunno.

Agreed. If the stars were any indication of the user's reputation, instead of how much they post, they might be worth keeping. But I imagine the rank is proof enough.

Images would be nice for the equipment, but I imagine it'd take a long time to mess with, and that's time Webrunner can't spend on MC or anything else. So I'd personally vote against this.

Also, postcount and money are indeed pretty dependant on resolution. They're on one line on my laptop, and two at home.

I was thinking of abbreviations for stuff like "Groups" and "Joined" - not the equipment area. Though yeah, it's hard to shorten it without confusing people.
The "Joined" date can sort of be changed to another date format, but in the end it's still there by default. What if we just shrink all the sidebar text to the same size as "Weap:"?
