RPG characters are remarkable resillient in battle mode. Even Gildward wouldn't actually DIE when hit in the head by an axe, though it might do 9999 damage.

Argent, fortunately, perished in a cutscene.

Perished?  Nah, he just dozed off under the tree coughed up a few dozen pints of blood and then woke up later ended up breathing it right into his lungs to which he try and continued his journey to bring justice to the world get enough air to survive another few seconds.  The town welcomes him with an awesome parade Unfortunately, it didn't work very well.

I didn't actually mind blitz/drownball in FFX, but X-2 ruined it completely. It's an...odd...concept, though. And Blanc joining it is, once again, TOTALLY unpredicatable.

wait...wait...nope sorry, that theory doesnt check out. He's dead unfortuntly. Why? here's the evidence:

1. Had a BROKEN ARM. That is evidence that Agent really was wounded bad, unlike in RPGs no matter how many times your character gets smacked by meteors, they'll not suffer any physical injury.

2. Althought the RPG mechanics argument sounds feasible, Argent died IN A CUTSCENE and there is a body.

Also also, I agree that Drowningball is a superior name for that stupid sport in FFX. I'm almost tempted to try and organize a wikipedia raid/prank to rename all instances of it.

'Blitzball' is more like soccer, underwater, and with a mediocre RPG-style numbered stat system. Look it up if you're particularly curious.
