In addition, 1,000 Plot Precognition Points (each) to everyone who said he was dead. That really could have gone either way, and the outcome still surprised me. Seriously, my first though was "Holy sh**, he's really dead!" Which, naturally, was followed by "Ah, damn, the forum's gonna explode on this one."

Oh, that's easy. You just have to kill Khrima without using I-Buster or losing a party member. If you do that, Karn's final strike will seal him in an orange ball of holy seal-yness. During the speach in Bystandaria, hit Circle twice, Square, Triangle, Square, Square, Circle, Triangle, Square, and the secret Hexagon key. Then do a quarter-circle up while holding R1 and L2, and holding Up on the right stick about halfway. Lick the screen during Karashi's epilogue, and Argent will rise from his grave to help you fight Necrevil.

No, no, it's the sequel movie that comes out where Argent makes frequent but brief appearances to boost Karn's morale in his battles, only at the end it's revealed that he's been sleeping with Lumi in the afterlife for the past two years D:

Oh, no. I have a couple quadrillion reasons he didn't die. Or stay dead. But this will have just cemented you people's unbelief. I, sadly, cannot change that.

Only to have Necrevil kill him again. On the plus side, if you do this, Necrevil only has half normal HP.
