RE: Bugs Thread - Hello - 10-17-2006 01:31 AM

Some of the allying cards' text have not been changed to reflect the new simplier allying.
Ex: Clock pal, accel, decel (All I found)

Also, do mods and locations count for your allying?

RE: Bugs Thread - Blue_Elite - 10-17-2006 02:04 AM

Yes, both do. My question is do spells count themselves for allying? Cause Solar Flare (among others) is still ally 2.

RE: Bugs Thread - Hello - 10-17-2006 02:42 AM

Spells never did, as they aren't entities. (though locations weren't considered entities either...) This is probably one of the reasons that made allying more confusing that it needed be.

RE: Bugs Thread - masamunemaniac - 10-17-2006 04:08 AM

As far as definitions are concerned, I don't think that Modifiers count as entities, and the location most certianly isn't. No "destroy target entity" can destroy either of them, and "attaches to entity" can't attach to either of them.

Allying is powered by the number of Allying cards in play. Monsters, effects, modifiers and the location are in play, whereas spells do not enter play. Hence, cards other than spells include themselves, while spells do not.

Clockwork paladin, accel/decel were given minor boosts, instead of changing the card text. Not a bug.

RE: Bugs Thread - masamunemaniac - 10-18-2006 04:30 AM

Anyone know what happens when Jack/Nadri Megus/The Unspoken kills a Suicider/Satellite/Redshirt etc? Do they die from their ability, thus denying the managain/statgain, or do those abilities still activate? Or does it depend on who's furthest left?

Also similarly, if SKRAP-4 kills a robot, but dies itself in the process, does he still gain the +35/+35, enabling him to survive (a la Unspoken)?

And does New Power Source make generator monsters (One of the Satellites) or generator modifiers (the packs) cheaper?

RE: Bugs Thread - Blue_Elite - 10-18-2006 08:06 AM

Well if this helps: if you attack a face down with a monster that requires power to attack or else dizzies (Dethstrik Eliminator for example), the face down will be revealed, if it's a "destroys if in combat" monster it is destroyed, and no damage is ever delt to the dizzying attack monster (due to lack of power).

As for New Power Source, what does the coding say? Is it name based like World's Biggest e? If so anything with "generator" in it's type should be discounted. Of course, your question is still valid for the Packs as I'm still a bit confussed for when mods count as entities and when they don't.

RE: Bugs Thread - masamunemaniac - 10-18-2006 08:43 AM

The code for New Power Source looks to me that it only cheapens effects. Just thought I'd firstly get someone else to confirm, and secondly find out whether this is how it's meant to be - whether it wants the wording changed (which I can do) or the coding changed (which is outside the scope of what I'm doing).

Hmm, your first scenario is an interesting one... If you used a Gravity Mine or Diplomacy, presumably attacking or defending satellites/suiciders would die even though they never actually seen combat. There may be other similar interactions that I can't think of without the allcardsfull.jsp open too. I've no idea how simple/complex this would be for webrunner to fix, obviously, but if left as is it's a bit of errata that deserves to make it onto the wiki.

RE: Bugs Thread - Blue_Elite - 10-20-2006 01:38 AM

Electric Conduit gives -3/+3 instead of -3/-3 like it should.

Shell Game: Monsters are not moved.

Captain Navis: Works on opponent's ships as well.

RE: Bugs Thread - Ryuujin II - 10-20-2006 04:34 AM

My opponent sacrificed a Sword Dancer (during their sacrifice phase), name was shown in text log, info did not appear in tab. I think one of these is a bug, although I am not entirely sure which.

RE: Bugs Thread - webrunner - 10-20-2006 08:20 AM

Oh, incidentally

Allying does -not- specify Entities. It specifies 'CARDS IN PLAY'. This includes the Location and Modifiers but does -not- include spells.

Huzzah, looks like I knew what I was talking about in #64 then.

I'll might have a flick through the cscs and see if I can find anything that could want testing tonight.
