RE: ADVENTURERS!: Level 1: World of Imbalance - PREORDER NOW - *NightWind* - 05-29-2007 10:36 PM I don't know if it's possible, but you might be able to write a program that saves each comic image to your PC. There's a certain date format and it might just work if you increment the date format. I haven't tried it myself yet though. RE: ADVENTURERS!: Level 1: World of Imbalance  - PREORDER NOW - masamunemaniac - 05-29-2007 10:37 PM Eh, Aeon's list looks a bit prettier and has the last couple of comics to it RE: ADVENTURERS!: Level 1: World of Imbalance  - PREORDER NOW - webrunner - 05-30-2007 12:14 AM So, the people who have the book: Opinions? RE: ADVENTURERS!: Level 1: World of Imbalance  - PREORDER NOW - Leander - 05-30-2007 03:23 AM Still waiting on mine to arrive, but I have a question: Do you recieve any money from these book purchases? Or is it entirely Keenspot? RE: ADVENTURERS!: Level 1: World of Imbalance  - PREORDER NOW - shaventalz - 05-30-2007 10:03 AM Handy to use, interesting comments, and nice bonus material. It's already reminded me of a couple things I missed. A bit smaller than I expected, though. RE: ADVENTURERS!: Level 1: World of Imbalance  - PREORDER NOW - Shadowhunter - 05-30-2007 10:20 AM It does LOOK pretty small, yes, but it's got quite a lot of content, with all the comics and commentary. One thing that I really WOULD like to know, though, is what those two mysterious signs say. Of course, the commentary on that page said that Webrunner didn't know. Curses! The character info on Gildward and Chookie both say that they're involved in many dungeons, and that Chookie is 'surprisingly plot important'. By what the ADV comic showed, they were both utterly worthless. Maybe some new comics, or a story or something, about that? One thing I really did like, though, was the whole 'copyrighting' blurb on the back. That amused me greatly. :) I think adding in some more 'exclusive content', like design sketches, or ideas that weren't used, or some stuff from that idea jot pad you mentioned regarding the "Frog Sword" would be awesome. There are plenty of comics, though the fairly small size of the book makes it look pretty small. I mean, I spend a lot of time yesterday re-reading all those comics, the blurbs...it was awesome. And nostalagic. One question, though: were the comics actually that colorful? It seems moreso to me than normal. RE: ADVENTURERS!: Level 1: World of Imbalance  - PREORDER NOW - webrunner - 05-30-2007 11:00 AM One thing is that the comics were often posted as GIF files, but the comics in the book were posted from the original PDF files- so stuff like gradients would come through cleaner in those cases. RE: ADVENTURERS!: Level 1: World of Imbalance  - PREORDER NOW - Shadowhunter - 05-30-2007 11:11 AM Ah, that'd make sense. They just looked so much more colorful, I was wondering if it was the contrast with the white background, or the material, or what. RE: ADVENTURERS!: Level 1: World of Imbalance  - PREORDER NOW - Aegof - 05-30-2007 05:50 PM The book is great, Webrunner. Pretty much all of the new stuff--from the special thanks to the commentary to the Kingdom Hearts joke--is great and all the better because it's in dead tree form. I very much look forward to getting the rest of the strip in print. RE: ADVENTURERS!: Level 1: World of Imbalance  - PREORDER NOW - shaventalz - 05-30-2007 09:24 PM So does this mean the hooded figure with a laser facination seen in the epilogue is really a *SPOILER REMOVED*? RE: ADVENTURERS!: Level 1: World of Imbalance - PREORDER NOW - Aegof - 05-30-2007 09:36 PM Huh. Spotted a tiny problem. Remember this comic? In my copy, the damage numbers are missing. RE: ADVENTURERS!: Level 1: World of Imbalance  - PREORDER NOW - Shadowhunter - 05-30-2007 09:36 PM No, it means you have to Smurf the Smurf with the Smurf, while Smurfing at the Smurf to get the second Smurf. THEN he'll be a Smurf. RE: ADVENTURERS!: Level 1: World of Imbalance  - PREORDER NOW - webrunner - 05-30-2007 09:54 PM well, there's always going to be something that slips through the cracks. I might have missed a layer in the remastering process (read: resizing in photoshop and copying the layers) RE: ADVENTURERS!: Level 1: World of Imbalance  - PREORDER NOW - *NightWind* - 05-30-2007 09:55 PM -Shadow- Wrote:No, it means you have to Smurf the Smurf with the Smurf, while Smurfing at the Smurf to get the second Smurf. THEN he'll be a Smurf. And then the next step is you have to Smurfette the Smurf... RE: ADVENTURERS!: Level 1: World of Imbalance - ORDER NOW - NOLDER - 01-05-2009 12:18 AM so is there a second book coming out sometime in the future? RE: ADVENTURERS!: Level 1: World of Imbalance - ORDER NOW - masamunemaniac - 11-24-2009 07:18 PM After being unavailable for a while, the book is available again (different store site, link in first post). My offer to Brit people and Euro people still stands (I honestly can't remember why I never went through with that last time), although note that the shipping cost is a little higher now and the exchange rate is a little less favourable, so the prices will be a bit more than listed on the first post. RE: ADVENTURERS!: Level 1: World of Imbalance - ORDER NOW - Adam Garcia - 05-21-2010 12:24 AM Are you going to release an Antihero for Hire book in the future? RE: ADVENTURERS!: Level 1: World of Imbalance - ORDER NOW - Darg - 05-21-2010 03:14 AM There's an entire section devoted to AFH, you really didn't need to revive a 6-month dead thread just to ask that. To answer your question, since it's already here, that depends entirely on how well the first ADV! book sold I'd bet. Since there was never a second book - and considering the aforementioned mortality of this particular thread, I'm guessing the first book sales didn't warrant a second book. Which also means there likely won't be an AFH book anytime soon. Then again, this is all pure speculation on my part, anyone with better info please correct me. |
