Still better than expected. :)

I didn't know there was to be muchos commentary. And it only makes it better. Like, before the Wiki said it, I didn't know that Ker's sword was the reforged M-Sword. Where'd that come from, hmm?

A bunch of different places. We don't really bother with citations, though occasionally I do put them in as edit summaries.

RE: ADVENTURERS!: Level 1: World of Imbalance  - BOOK COMING SOON - Shadowhunter - 03-24-2007 07:51 PM

The only 'reference' I'd found was that Ker's sword had been forged from an extremely powerful weapon. Not necessarily the M-Sword...

here we go.

webrunner Wrote:Mugendai-Yaiba, the Infinity Blade, uses power based on the HP of the wielder. it was destroyed, and reforged as the blade Ker got to fight the Legendary Evil. This is why in CMC it does damage based on your lifepoints.

Kyuukyoku-Yaiba, the Terminal Blade, is infused with the same sort of power as the Melody of Finite. It is an anti-Eternal weapon, which makes an Eternal mortal while it cuts. This is the weapon used to defeat Eternion, and was then got by Eternion and used to take over the Council.

.....huh. Well, ok. Thanks for that linkage. :)

RE: ADVENTURERS!: Level 1: World of Imbalance  - BOOK COMING SOON - webrunner - 03-26-2007 10:08 AM

I was hoping most of that was inferred in the comic, but I guess I wasn't explicit enough.

RE: ADVENTURERS!: Level 1: World of Imbalance  - BOOK COMING SOON - Shadowhunter - 03-26-2007 10:10 AM

Well, it might've just been me. I'm not the brightest bulb on the block. :)

RE: ADVENTURERS!: Level 1: World of Imbalance  - BOOK COMING SOON - masamunemaniac - 03-26-2007 10:21 AM

I could understand how a non-CMC player could miss that (seeing the abilities of Mugendai and Kyuukuyoku on the cards makes it easier), but then you can get it from ADV alone, it's just harder. But then it's not like intricate bits of the backstory (technically another story's backstory, ie ADV prequel) need to be explicitly stated.

Well, I don't recall anything inferring the origin of Ker's sword.

And I found Argent's speech in this comic to be one of the most obvious clues on the Eternals' swords' nature, but you claim it's backwards.

So, yeah. No real way to tell without the CMC cards.

RE: ADVENTURERS!: Level 1: World of Imbalance  - BOOK COMING SOON - webrunner - 03-26-2007 12:22 PM

Ker's sword is brought up when they're talking about the eternal sword, I expected that to be the thing that made it obvious.

RE: ADVENTURERS!: Level 1: World of Imbalance - BOOK COMING SOON - Milo - 03-26-2007 12:38 PM

Yeah, but that was with a "Afraid not, the only legendary sword I know about is mine." comment, strongly implying that at least Ker didn't believe them to be related. And in an RPG world, it is entirely plausible for there to be many, many legendary swords that have absolutely no connection to each other. In fact, it'd be a surprise if there weren't such swords.

RE: ADVENTURERS!: Level 1: World of Imbalance - BOOK COMING SOON - masamunemaniac - 03-26-2007 12:48 PM

Legendary Sword of the Green Dragon to prove you wrong. They've all got the same origin.

RE: ADVENTURERS!: Level 1: World of Imbalance - BOOK COMING SOON - Milo - 03-26-2007 12:57 PM

Well... umm... err...

He just writes the legends, that doesn't mean he made the swords! He's the one who goes around investigating and cataloguing every notable sword in the world and then spreading that information in the form of vague legends, but that doesn't mean the swords themselves originated with him.

Whew!

RE: ADVENTURERS!: Level 1: World of Imbalance  - BOOK COMING SOON - webrunner - 03-26-2007 01:00 PM

The conversation, paraphrased, was meant to be read like this:

"We're looking for a legendary sword that's really powerful in the hands of an eternal!"
"Well the only one I know about is mine that is more powerful as your HP goes up."
"Oh well that's.. WAIT A SECOND!"

RE: ADVENTURERS!: Level 1: World of Imbalance  - BOOK COMING SOON - masamunemaniac - 03-26-2007 01:16 PM

I don't think we've linked to that one already...
SWORDS N STUFF

RE: ADVENTURERS!: Level 1: World of Imbalance - BOOK COMING SOON - webrunner - 03-26-2007 02:05 PM

re-reading that one and the next one, it seems pretty clear to me:
- the sword was reforged from a powerful blade
- it's noted it would be really powerful in the hands of an eternal

Edit: This is getting kind of off-topic.

Indeed.

Any idea where we currently stand in terms of an ETA?

RE: ADVENTURERS!: Level 1: World of Imbalance  - BOOK COMING SOON - Shadowhunter - 03-26-2007 05:38 PM

And those shirts/posters/wootever? Can we still get them?

RE: ADVENTURERS!: Level 1: World of Imbalance  - BOOK COMING SOON - webrunner - 03-26-2007 08:57 PM

The book should be available to order soon, and be printed in a few weeks.

Also buying it = better chance of there being AFh and future ADV books.

RE: ADVENTURERS!: Level 1: World of Imbalance  - BOOK COMING SOON - Shadowhunter - 03-26-2007 09:24 PM

I'm more interested in ADV than AFH, personally.

And, erm, you didn't answer my question.
