I did steal a technosword from the magitoaster, but...
Tested on regular goblins, I *rarely* even get 5 gold pieces, if steal works at all. Besides, i already had a technosword as i stole it from magitoaster, soo...

Well, Shaven set the exp + gold gains so you gained a specific amount by the end of the demo. Why it had to be so low, I dunno. The comic suggests GP being a lot less valuable, too.

The 5GP thing was mostly as a junk steal, anyway. Yes, you can steal from them, but it really isn't worth it.

Don't believe so, no. It was made in RPG Maker, which doesn't seem to be Mac-friendly. Sorry.

Shaven: I'm not much of a JavaScript person, but I hope this link helps. If you want, I might be able to supply a hit counter script written in Python/CGI, though I'm not sure if your web page already does that for you. (I've written said script in Python, though it'll take me some time to fish it out)
