But, observe reasoning: I don't know which people would exactly fit the role of each piece, but we don't have to worry about the leader's piece. Because the leader is the player. RE: Phase 8: Manipulators; Chapter 1: Pawns and Knights - Zemyla - 01-29-2008 12:15 PM You know, I'm kind of reminded of the Eternal Council from Adv!. RE: Phase 8: Manipulators; Chapter 1: Pawns and Knights - Aegof - 02-01-2008 01:12 AM I think this is what they call a "Bad Thing." RE: Phase 8: Manipulators; Chapter 1: Pawns and Knights - *NightWind* - 02-01-2008 01:33 AM Best comic page ever! ^_^ Edit: EEEEE! The "...did a bad bad thing" lyrics are stuck in my head now. (Well not that I support smoking, it's just that Hector and Wizard on the same page just looks so cool and dramatic!) RE: Phase 8: Manipulators; Chapter 1: Pawns and Knights - alphamai1300 - 02-01-2008 02:41 AM What. The. Spoon. * alphamai1300 throws almost everything out the cognitive window. RE: Phase 8: Manipulators; Chapter 1: Pawns and Knights - Chris B - 02-01-2008 07:38 AM Good thing my typing isn't affected by my speech skills, because I'm pretty much foaming at the mouth right now. RE: Phase 8: Manipulators; Chapter 1: Pawns and Knights - Milo - 02-01-2008 04:46 PM Hector and Wizard are up to no good! In other news, water is wet! Film at 11. RE: Phase 8: Manipulators; Chapter 1: Pawns and Knights - *NightWind* - 02-02-2008 08:48 AM And Shadehawk at 12. RE: Phase 8: Manipulators; Chapter 1: Pawns and Knights - shaventalz - 02-02-2008 10:35 PM Actually, I'd say this is about as ominous as the clock striking 13. RE: Phase 8: Manipulators; Chapter 1: Pawns and Knights - Saint - 02-02-2008 10:41 PM What's so ominous about one in the afternoon? RE: Phase 8: Manipulators; Chapter 1: Pawns and Knights - Darg - 02-03-2008 10:16 AM No, no, that's 1300h, which can only be displayed on a digital clock. And everyone knows that digital clocks don't "strike", unless thrown, but that's different. At any rate, only analog clocks can strike 13, which they don't which...hell I have no idea what I'm talking about now. Right, clock conundrums aside, there's no evidence that Hector and Wizard haven't been working together all this time, this could just be the first time we've seen it. After all, we hardly have any idea what kind of shadey back-alley and under-the-table deals Hector may be involved with. And no, "shadey" was not a pun. RE: Phase 8: Manipulators; Chapter 1: Pawns and Knights - Milo - 02-03-2008 01:55 PM I think the "you're always late" line was meant as a clue that they've been seeing each other for a while. And it's possible to build a digital clock that strikes a bell each hour. It's no particularly commonly done but there's no law of physics preventing it. RE: Phase 8: Manipulators; Chapter 1: Pawns and Knights - Chris B - 02-03-2008 11:47 PM Wizard's last line strikes me as odd. It just seems unusual that he would use colloquialisms like that, considering his manner of speech around other characters. Perhaps he opens up some around Hector? RE: Phase 8: Manipulators; Chapter 1: Pawns and Knights - alphamai1300 - 02-04-2008 01:11 AM Recovering from that little bombshell from Friday, I realize this is chess. Aside from the deeper meaning and representation a game of chess has to the story (and that two swords chapter cover of Crossroad and Shadehawk), they're playing chess. That's badass. RE: Phase 8: Manipulators; Chapter 1: Pawns and Knights - Aegof - 02-04-2008 01:18 AM Took me a second to realize what they were talking about in that last panel. Prolly 'cause the movement of the chess piece wasn't immediately noticable the first time through. I'm also gonna take this to mean Wizard's really good at chess. RE: Phase 8: Manipulators; Chapter 1: Pawns and Knights - Boss^Boss - 02-04-2008 11:43 AM Ah, jokes about Chess and Telekinesis. Truly, this is the foundation of good comedy. Maybe that he doesn't care enough to make the best move every time? Something like that? Maybe I'm trying to read into it too much. RE: Phase 8: Manipulators; Chapter 1: Pawns and Knights - RazorD9 - 02-04-2008 11:32 PM Pawns are expendiable pieces, while Knights are a form of nobility loyal to the king. Plus the Whole chess game Hector and Wizard are playing. By the sound of it, though know each other and ths is a normal thing, or at least it was since the whole presendent comment would imply that this is there first meeting since Hector got "promoted". More interested in there connection and the reason for the meeting. Might be related to the secret councel or they will cross later on. Doubt any of them are any of the hooded guys those. Though think Hector is the one with the connection to them. That's what I was thinking; once Wizard makes a decision, nothing short of an act of God could dissuade him, and even then, God would need to do some serious convincing. |
