I associate "glow-in-the-dark" with phosphorescence.
And there is no such thing as green gamma rays. That's like asking for a triangular circle.

I had a triangular circle once in high school. I put it in my M.C. Escher locker one day and haven't seen it since.
Also, in the Hulk comics/shows/movies/tapestries/etc. Gamma radiation is always portrayed as a green light. Seeing as Shadey lives in a comic book world, it's totally plausible that bright green glow is Gamma radiation.
