The color change was something I thought of in the middle of last chapter and didn't want to introduce mid-chapter.

MANTIS uses a lot of Friend or Foe technology in their optics.

It's possible that Wrench and ... *coughtheotherguywhosenameIcantremembercough* simply didn't know there were that many MANTIS agents in the building. Yes, it's likely they knew there would be some, but if their intel was inaccurate (whether by design or accident), then they wouldn't know until Crossroad reported it.

I'm thinking that Wrench and Echo (I think he's called Trent) simply refrained from mentioning the fact in order to not dissuade Crossroad from going there.
