I was thinking before that Baron Diamond would be far too strong to fit in with the rest of these inepts, but I guess if whoever sprung him didn't see reason to give him SUPER-ARMS this time he could fit in quite well...

Well, he's strong but he's also A) inept, and B) easily manipulated by cash and/or coercion. He was hired by Hector in his last appearance and by Dr. N in the last AFH Free Comic Day comic.
You'd think a baron of Miraria with his own diamond mine wouldn't need the cash to hire himself out. I'm starting to think he just does it for the entertainment value.
