Then um... go random person!

RE: Phase 9: Research; Chapter 1: Wearing the Hat - Loyle - 09-30-2008 01:13 PM

Jack is a mercenary, not a bad guy. He's in the middle of the spectrum

RE: Phase 9: Research; Chapter 1: Wearing the Hat - Milo - 09-30-2008 01:35 PM

Jack is a mercenary who specializes in working for bad guys. And has complete contempt for the morality of what he's doing. He's not exactly neutral.

Jack isn't a villain, since he doesn't actively seek to do evil for his own purposes, but he's still a bad guy.

He's obviously (from his competence and huge arsenal) a very rich bad guy.

If I was to design an inhibitor, I would do so in such a way that when the user comes in contact with it, it would release an physically undetectable static discharge that would travel down the nerves, up the spinal cord and into the brain. There, it would target and disable the main divisions which Wizard relies on for telekinetics, thus rendering him powerless. As fallback, I would put him into a state of tempoary paralysis from the neck down. You know, in case he tries to claw my eyes out.

Wouldn't it be easier and far more practical to design something that, I dunno, disables Wizard's powersuit instead? I mean, as cool and scifi as your idea is, TeraCorp is, firstly, a corporation and corporations generally prefer the easier, less expensive options.
Then again, sending several squads of "mere" MANTIS agents against Wizard isn't exactly in keeping with that, but meh.

These guys are gonna show up again in later chapters, right?

Double entendre!

RE: Phase 9: Research; Chapter 1: Wearing the Hat - Deathblack Rabbit - 10-03-2008 11:09 AM

That comment went beyond innuendo.

RE: Phase 9: Research; Chapter 1: Wearing the Hat - Milo - 10-03-2008 11:39 AM

Those are miniguns, not chainguns.

RE: Phase 9: Research; Chapter 1: Wearing the Hat - webrunner - 10-03-2008 03:03 PM

Just because chaingunstein didn't want to change his name doesn't mean he's going to use chainguns all the time.

Also, being the monster he is, Chaingunstien's Monster is stupid.

And (if he follows Frankenstein monster) unloved.

RE: Phase 9: Research; Chapter 1: Wearing the Hat - *NightWind* - 10-04-2008 03:38 AM

Wow.

RE: Phase 9: Research; Chapter 1: Wearing the Hat - Aegof - 10-06-2008 12:16 AM

I think it'll go exactly the opposite of that.

RE: Phase 9: Research; Chapter 1: Wearing the Hat - Loyle - 10-06-2008 02:39 AM

Wizard has sunken to new, evil depths.

RE: Phase 9: Research; Chapter 1: Wearing the Hat - *NightWind* - 10-06-2008 05:31 AM

Wizard's awesome. I'm going to make a guess that that stuff is play money.

RE: Phase 9: Research; Chapter 1: Wearing the Hat - masamunemaniac - 10-06-2008 08:10 AM

Oh no, I'm guessing that it's very real. Though it looks like it's gold and jewels and such - huge value, but a pain to convert into cash, and of course very hard to appraise in order to divide evenly (which of course makes the assumption that the villains would even want to divide it evenly).

RE: Phase 9: Research; Chapter 1: Wearing the Hat - starburst98 - 10-06-2008 08:24 AM

or, for an anti-climax, they actually do work it out properly, with baron diamond being the gem appraiser, all those years of diamond inspecting should have made him very good.

RE: Phase 9: Research; Chapter 1: Wearing the Hat - Ultros - 10-06-2008 08:43 AM

It must be worth so many tens of dollars.

RE: Phase 9: Research; Chapter 1: Wearing the Hat - masamunemaniac - 10-06-2008 08:46 AM

That... makes perfect sense.

RE: Phase 9: Research; Chapter 1: Wearing the Hat - *NightWind* - 10-08-2008 05:33 AM

Maybe it's a hologram?
