And now we get to see new villains...one being a vegetable.

Also, Baron has another ridiculous attack.

They've been mentioned before... though by "down to nine" makes me wonder whether it's in fact the Ten Ton Cabbage and not the Five Ton Cabbage...

His weight is variable

RE: Phase 9: Research; Chapter 1: Wearing the Hat - masamunemaniac - 10-20-2008 08:54 AM

These guys need to stick to their names better. First it's Chaingunstein using miniguns, and now this?
What next? Doctor Nefarious gets stripped of his Doctorate? Baron Diamond gets a fetish for gold? Crimson Boomerang starts wearing pink?

It makes one wonder whether Crossroad is the point where peoples' past and future meets still.

She is, but she basically focuses on infiltrating high school reunions now.

Oh man, I can't believe I didn't realize that was the Cabbage until now.

It's also insane how happy this chapter is making me. A rogue's gallery? Fuck yeah. Now we just need a sinister number of villains that start with s.

RE: Phase 9: Research; Chapter 1: Wearing the Hat - Deathblack Rabbit - 10-20-2008 10:40 AM

you're not the only one insanely pleased with chapter.

y'know, if the Airmistress had come before the Baron, this would have been in alphabetical order.

I'm going to hope that Wrench turns off the lights. Or calls the police so that it causes chaos and Shadehawk can quietly sneak out the door.

A supervillian being greedy? What has the world come to!

RE: Phase 9: Research; Chapter 1: Wearing the Hat - Milo - 10-24-2008 01:58 AM

How the hell do you say "Diamond Shield-Enhanced Uppercut Attack" without giving your target time to dodge?

Also, "I already did you once" sounds like something the Airmistress would say.

Well, at least my last question was answered.

I'd say that he hit during the speech, somewhere around the "Shield-enhanced" part.

RE: Phase 9: Research; Chapter 1: Wearing the Hat - sXeAndriex - 10-24-2008 01:49 PM

Is it weird that it makes me happy that Baron Diamond was the one to clock Shadehawk? I've been rooting for him this entire battle.

Not that I want Shadehawk to lose or anything, but every hero needs threatening villains and B.D. totally deserves to be scary. I mean, he can bench a car.

RE: Phase 9: Research; Chapter 1: Wearing the Hat - Aegof - 10-24-2008 08:30 PM

I dunno; I'm not sure the Baron's particular brand of hilarity would work well on a scary character.
He's always been a threat, though, which is one of the reasons I like him so much. He's ridiculously silly, so Shadehawk's always underestimating him and nearly getting killed because of it.

Scary as in dangerous; threatening. Man, I'm having trouble with colloquial speech today.

RE: Phase 9: Research; Chapter 1: Wearing the Hat - masamunemaniac - 10-25-2008 08:47 AM

I assumed that the huge attack name going together with the uppercut was meant as a joke (in that it's impossible to say it all together with the attack, but it's entirely possible here because it's in text).

Or it could be just because it's Halloween now.

Only realised that now... hehe. Well, at least it doesn't suffer from ninjutsuness/flickyhands.

Really, just what does Airmistress mean when she's saying that? My mind is at a loss.

Possible meanings:
1. He foiled her plans in the men's bathroom...possibly a feat unmatched in all of heroism.
2. CENSORED! (Dark hero???)
3. She's crying wolf and attempting to get the crowd on her side. (Though she forgets: they're all evil villains and thus wouldn't care most likely.)

Oh, and "under-planes"? The F-bomb's been dropped in the comic and Ragnarok's cleaning up the tone of his speech. Nice.

"He put me in jail after I helped him! He's a jerk!" Is that Cardmaster I hear?

Exactly what it sounds like (however you interpret it)
