It could be one of those things that replace paper in sci-fi.

...or he COULD have swiped the button from Hector before talking to him to avoid getting some trap thrown at him a la Mr. Burns.

It's a data pad thing. Or a remote control. Or a doomsday device. It's something relevant at least, it's just not important what it is.

It's the big red square button launch shipment obviously. To get faster supply of big red square buttons around the globe to various evil and non-evil places alike (although the non-evil ones will be charged a higher price, obviously)

Relevant but unimportant you say? Sounds like my (lack of a) sex life... Yeah, I went there.

HUHVWAHUHWOAH!

>_> you spelled it wrong.

Hector Syphon, huh?

RE: Phase 9: Research; Chapter 2: the business - Milo - 11-24-2008 06:52 AM

Well, at least she didn't try to stall.

RE: Phase 9: Research; Chapter 2: the business - *NightWind* - 11-25-2008 08:47 AM

In the first panel, is Greenie wearing biker gloves? I wonder why she wears them during work? Maybe she rides a motorbike to work?

RE: Phase 9: Research; Chapter 2: the business - masamunemaniac - 11-25-2008 09:52 AM

Maybe she lifts weights, so as to later be strong enough to be a superhero?! Maybe this is foreshadowing that she will become a misguided hero working against Shadehawk and co?! She could become... The Firewall!!

But yeah, everyone's so colourful over at TeraCorp. It's as if their dress code is "No formal wear" and only the top execs can flout it without fear of punishment.

RE: Phase 9: Research; Chapter 2: the business - Aegof - 11-28-2008 01:16 AM

Is she evil enough for this?

RE: Phase 9: Research; Chapter 2: the business - Haplo_64 - 11-28-2008 04:51 AM

Just because she's at an evil company, doesn't mean she needs to be evil enough to do security. And I don't think he knows just how happy he has made her... BEAR HUG TIME!

She would have face paint like the last panel. Also, It's better that the person doing security isn't evil. Being evil tends to lower competency and bearing a sense of justice would make would-be do-gooders reluctant to take you out.

RE: Phase 9: Research; Chapter 2: the business - masamunemaniac - 11-28-2008 08:04 AM

Did being evil make Hector incompetant? Because that's his old job he just gave Greenie.

RE: Phase 9: Research; Chapter 2: the business - Loyle - 11-28-2008 08:24 AM

Well, Hector's different being a "mastermind" class of evil. And how many times did Shadehawk "successfully" break in and out of TeraCorp?

RE: Phase 9: Research; Chapter 2: the business - *NightWind* - 11-28-2008 08:33 AM

Kawaii!

RE: Phase 9: Research; Chapter 2: the business - Darg - 11-28-2008 04:58 PM

I'll cite Odo from DS9 (well, when it was still called Terok Nor) as strong precedent that you don't need to be evil to do a good job at security for an "evil" organization.

Ya know, I can't help but wonder, as A Ghost is hovering in this forum, if he'll make a post in here or make a new thread for the Jollybot Carol....let the holiday rhyming begin!

i like that phrase, and it is often true.
