Interlude Phase: VS: Jack Beats Queen.
I'm pretty sure the sisters are out classed here. Even five on one.

Also, Hello posed an interesting question on IRC. Why isn't he using his flail (chain weapon vs chain weapon)?

In other news, it's nice to see Jack actually back! Even if he probably won't pop up for a page or three.

RE: Interlude Phase: VS: Jack Beats Queen.
Wouldn't two flail weapons be harder to control (the fact that he's Jack aside for a moment) since both would be flailing, and thus failing? Har har, no seriously, if someone is using a flail weapon don't you have better control stopping them with either your hands/non-flail weapon? Either way... I'd like the record to show I made no weapon choices! Only wardrobe. Some bonus info: Jack is actually wearing flying pig boxer shorts underneath his pants! That is all.

May I present to you Fighter McWarrior, inventor as well as master of sword-chucks.

Also mage chucks.

Sleepyhead: are you going to be more involved with the AFH art from now on? Or just covers?

Also, can I call you sleepyhead? =P

RE: Interlude Phase: VS: Jack Beats Queen.
Didn't Fighter pretty much invent (any weapon)-chucks? If memory serves, he was even toying with nunchuck-chucks at one point...
Or maybe that was my idea and my faulty memory is inserting it into 8Bit lore...

Although the term 'sleepyhead' removes me of my fearsome and awesome title, I will allow it... because it's you Bugle Icon_wink Although if innocents are harmed or maimed, because of this lack of warning, you will be held accountable. Just sayin'.... heheh

But, yeah, I was considering being more involved in the AFH art (except the month of April is bad for me because of final projects up in teacher's college :/) -- but I also didn't want to... "take over" ... If however, there's a HIGH demand for my art, well... then... who could possibly argue with what the fans want? Icon_wink lol I enjoy it, honestly, but I will step back if people prefer/want Mark's art (and I honestly won't be butthurt about it lol)

To be honest I'm more interested in the story and humour. The art style used so far has been a good tool for delivering that, but I don't really see a problem with either involving or excluding Nicole from the comic's art.

Although I've got to say, being able to see eye colours makes fanart a lot easier.

I know my art isn't great, you dont have to be so diplomatic about it.

BTW if anyone wants high res of any of this stuff let me know, I've got it around if someone wants wallpaper or something.

RE: Interlude Phase: VS: Jack Beats Queen.
It could be much much worse. Icon_razz

I kinda like web's art actually. I suppose like ZUN's, it grew on me. But more so, besides a few odd joints and perspectives, your style feels "complete". Though it could hardly be called polished, the simpleness of your art allows you to get away with a lot and it's something that you've perfected with lots of experience.
That said, I'm definitely reading AFH for the plot/jokes/community than for the art, so it doesn't matter either way to me.

Btw, can you make the box text bigger in today's comic? It's hard to read (esp. compared to the dialogues).

Madonashock?

And, well, there goes my assumption that we wouldn't see Jack for the first few pages.

Well as soon as webrunner draws Fanny with eye colours I'm sure we'll start seeing more radical improvements.

RE: Interlude Phase: VS: Jack Beats Queen.
Someone needs to draw fan art of the #1 fan fan so I can be the #1 #1 fan fan fan art fan.

Edit: as a side note, from my interview with Web:

My interview with Web Wrote:Any chance for some spoilers?
Hm. I'm sure i can spoil something without it having any meaning at all.

Best kind of spoiler. Leave the forum guessing.
let's see.. Excalibur isn't the only legendary weapon that's going to have an important role in the comic eventually. And.. let's see... one more Simile wasn't always codenamed simile.

Just for the folks who read this forum but not the others. Have fun speculating!

Huh, I was expecting a bit more in the way of instantaneous improvement than that. I guess you're just naturally bad, especially at the whole colouring/shading thing.

I'm not sure going straight to "roasting" is what Webby meant by being less diplomatic...
...
That doesn't make it any less entertaining though.
