It should only cost 1. It says it only costs 1. It also doesn't work, but that's a different bug.

RE: [bug, csc] Feywarden's ability costs 3 mana
I'd like to point out that it seems like a large portion of recent balance changes have been showing up un-changed on the beta.

[Fixed] Jack Hologram-esque ability doesn't redirect attackers

Aha, I had figured it wasn't something wrong with the card itself.

Oh, by the way, 6 points to Nacho for the original report.

RE: [bug, csc] Feywarden's ability costs 3 mana
Dragontamer Feywarden's activated ability now costs [Image: lmana.gif]1. It also successfully redirects the targeted attacker to itself (doing nothing if either it is already blocking, already attacked specifically, or if the target is one of its own friends). It also has focus and has +10 attack on defense, all as advertised.

...Should it even be allowed to target in these situations?

As written, yes. It says "target attacking monster", and its friends (or even itself) can potentially be targetable attacking monsters.

It could be changed to a "If free to defend: [ [Image: abilitypointer.gif] [Image: lmana.gif]: ... ]" template, but at present the ability works as written.

2 points to Xrow Xx for confirming the fix, and another 4 for pointing out the ability derpiness.

I think I agree with using the "If free to defend: [ability]" text template.

No, but I'm happy to hear we know how to make it, because that means we can code Avatar of Hope style monsters who can block any number of creatures, which is kind of cool.

I think you're misinterpreting what Crow's saying, although I think an earlier resolved bug has involved monsters being in multiple combats simultaneously.

Also Two-Headed Giant of Foriys is probably a more readily known implementation of that ability in M:tG.

Really? He's a little old, don't you think? He's been out of print for almost 2 decades, since the days of Black Lotus and Time Walk. I'm not sure anybody who still plays magic would know who he is, though that might just be the generation gap between us (you're 4 years and a day my senior).

RE: [bug, csc] Dragontamer Feywarden can target attackers when not free to defend
Well, it has its own game format named after it (with its own section on Wikipedia, no less), so I figured it might be better known than another single, but more modern, card.

But then yeah, it might be due to me being most into Magic around 4th-6th edition.

EDIT:

RE: [bug, csc] Dragontamer Feywarden can target attackers when not free to defend
The two headed giant shows up in MtG online articles, either as an aside when talking about the 2HG format or when talking about terrible puns (Foriys is pronounced "four eyes"). Recently joined players who don't read online and didn't happen to face that Avatar in its Eighth Edition reprint (I for one didn't) are frankly unlikely to recognize either card.

In Nacho's position, I personally would have referred to Anurid Swarmsnapper, which has an ability that is exactly like what Nacho mistakenly thought I was saying Feywarden presently has. But that card is even less memorable.

Maybe it's just that I started playing during the Masques block, so the Avatars or Furry/Hope/Might/Will/Woe are still pretty memorable to me.
