What Happened? Here\'s what happened.

So, there was this PHPBB worm going around, so I said "hey, why don't I update the forum?" I backed it up, updated, and it was fine.

Then, I said, "Maybe I should try one of these neat mods"

I installed easymod, and it worked.

So then I tried to use Easymod to install the mod it comes with.. and the forum exploded.

So, I tried to go back to the backup.. but the backup wasn't complete (stupid phpbb) and so we were left.. forumless.

I decided to just try this other forum called MyBB since PHPBB has a lot of annoying restrictions. Yes, you'll have to re-register. Yes, all the posts are gone. I'm sorry, but there's nothing I can do. Yes, it was my fault.

Sorry. But I'm going to try to make this forum better then the old one ever was.

Yes, indeed, it does suck what happened, but this way, we can at least start fresh.
Of course, now I'll have to reset my desktop colors, as black text on a black window is really hard to read, but eh. (I've already "selected All" about a dozen times to make sure I haven't typo'd anything , and it's my personal settings that make it black)

Webby, what exactly do you mean by the backup being 'incomplete?' Was it poorly designed, as in saving only the forum setup instead of the more important posts and the like, or (and I'm already sorry for sounding accusatory) did you stop it backing up while it was still in the middle of saving things?

I'm not sure if it created a full backup and then didn't properly send it to me, or what. The file was .gz even though it wasn't gzipped, though, I can't remember if I told it to gzip or not.

I know it kinda sux that all the forums are gone but its like starting frsh and new eh

But yeah, this is a good chance for a fresh start... even if it does mean there will be a spam fest for a few days.

Actually, I've always wanted to use that as my Av ever since it appeared in the Keenspot Newsbox, but couldn't in the last forum due to kb size restrictions...so I settled for the drugged cat.
I can change it to something else if y'all want...
