Forum Upgrade

I just upgraded the forums to the latest released version (1.0 PR2).

I need to re-do some of the minor mods I had before (removing the reptuation bars for one thing) but there's some new features I have to explore, too. Anyway, enjoy.

Can we request mods?

Well, um, I'm probably not going to write many, but if you DO happen to get word of a mybb mod you want used...

It seems all apostrophes and quotes from the last board got a backslash prepended to them.

Um... does this version happen to have the old one's feature of automatically logging in whenever you reach the forums?

Hmm, i dunno why it's putting the favorite CMC card there. I'll look into that.

Incidentally, it is logging me on fine. Try clearing your cookie first.

Please keep the favorite card text, I really like it.

The rest of the visual 'upgrades', though...Seems a bit too flashy for me. Especially things like the top of the index, and the buttons on your post (PMs, etc.). Don't mind me though. >_>

there's a new thing for it in your profile so you can have it anyway.

Do you plan to re-add the feature that allowed us to go back to the forum index, or main page or whatever exactley it was called?

I can't remeber if that was a mod or not, but it was nice in my opinion.

Yeah, it would be nice to have a theme that look like the old boards, perhaps as an option.

But then, I tend to be bad at adapting to changes.

And what about the backslash thing? I didn't see that answered. I assume fixing it would be a fairly simple operation, though.

It's soo white... too bright, like outside ... eyes squinting.

i'll look into getting a new theme, this is just the default.

One thing I've noticed so far: there's a limit of 0 images per sig. Current sigs are fine, but if you want to change one character, you have to delete the image tag.

Ah, i'll fix that.

Another... slight problem. As long as you stay within the character limit for the "under-avatar" text, you can put anything you want in there, HTML included. I just doubled my avatar height with no problem. If possible, I'd suggest a check for < and > before letting the user change it.

Well, uhm. that's not really something I can easily do at the moment. *shrug*.

Remember, I didnt write the forum softare, and I dont know much php.

I don't really know any php, but there ought to be a fairly simple way to search for a specific character in a specific field before going on. It's not really that big of a deal, as long as someone (read: you or the mods) can change it for a person if it gets out of hand.
