How did you come to know the Adventurers?
Hey all,

Since Adventurers is coming to an end (sadly), I though it would be nice to make a poll to see how we all came to know and love the Adventurers.  In other words please vote on the method you used which brought you to read you first Adventurer's comic.  I came to know the Adventurers via the Keenspot home page.

If you want, you can also post when did you start reading and which part of the Adventurers did you like the most. I liked the parts about the Argent and the power of the flowgems.

May the delightful memories of the Adventurers forever stay with us.

Cheers,
*NightWind*

For me, it was all thanks to the RPGWorld "It had to happen sometime" crossover.

RE: How did you come to know the Adventurers?
Speaking of RPGWorld, I miss it.  But I guess when Adventurers ends, I'll miss Adventurers even more.

Why do all good things have to come to an end?

I was linked to Chookie's introduction strip, as an example of what the person felt about.... was it Moogles? Maybe. Anyway, I read the archives, and here I am.

Came here from Webby's website DSOS...an amazing work of genius, and its loss is lamented by all.

Webby technically owes me porn.

I looked over someone's shoulder and saw it.

This was back when it was on DSOS, and I agree with Eidolon that it needs to start up again.

RE: How did you come to know the Adventurers?
Heh, somehow I followed a link from RPGWorld to ADVENTURERS, was unimpressed by the looks of comic #1, but the "Believe in the spleen on the cards" ALT text caught my eye (cmc link image didn't load lol, if it did would I be here now?), so skipping ADV completely and then going onto Cardmaster Conflict...
After playing for a bit, I then went back to reading ADV. Thanks to Karn's exploits I was able to merely shrug off the death of RPGWorld, rather than have it take a piece of my soul with it.

Thanks for the tips.  I would have fixed it but I'm not a mod.  Well, at least there's still an option called Other.  So I guess that in the end we might have half the voters picking "Other".:)

RE: How did you come to know the Adventurers?
I got here from RPG World. Then I stopped following RPG World. I got to RPG World from Dragon Warrior Comics. I stopped following that when it died. It may or may not have come back, I'm not sure. I got to DWC from a series of GameFAQs quotes on the Dragon Warrior message board.

King: Dragonlord. Here's money. Save the world.
Hero: Wow! Over 100 gold! I wonder how much a sword is.
Shop guy: Hey, little guy. Wanna stick?
Hero: Very funny. No. I want a sword
Shop guy: 1,500 gold please.
Hero: ?!
Hero: Lots of soldiers use spears. How much are those?
Shop guy: I don't have any. No one does.
Hero: Stick it is.

I think I linked to it from 8-bit theatre. That was a long time ago. Somewhere around comic 250. Anyone have an idea how many comics there have been total?

RE: How did you come to know the Adventurers?
Like so many, it was RPG world. I bumped into it from the cross over, wasn't too impressed. When I was up to date from the RPG world archives, I began flicking through adventureres and began to love it.

RE: How did you come to know the Adventurers?
Other: I found ADV by trying to get a webcomic but clicked on ADV! in the dropbox by accident.. Then I read this comic and I thought it was a bit stupid and left. I came back again because I was reading El Goonish Shive a while later, and I saw the newbox, which was adversting ADV! I'm glad I gave it a second chance.. it's such a good webcomic.

RE: How did you come to know the Adventurers?
Mine seemed to have gone in reverse to everyone else's. I came upon Adventurers through that comic-choosing top box thing while reading Sinfest, then I found RPG World. Then AFH, then CMC. Amazing stuff.

Why, sir, one could infer from that that RPG World, by contrast has ended, and that obviously isn't true. <<
