RE: GameWhale needs to be Harpooned
The 50% chance to gain 2[Image: gmana.gif] when GameWhale leaves play isn't new, it has always been a part of the card. Just not everyone (like me) knew that the trigger worked when the card was effect D'd (i.e. mistakenly read it to mean "when sacced" only).

Cards go in the public shop as they are sold and leave it once they are bought. You can't just "make cards available" in it. It's all supply and demand.

Not to get off topic but web could change it so that only generators have a 25x stock when the store is restocked (of which I don't know how that works other than that it's periodic, not automatic).

RE: GameWhale needs to be Harpooned
Now, I agree that it wasn't exactly balanced at 0-3, but now with it returned to 0-2, it's really not worth the risk. The nerf was way OTT in my opinion.

Thus, I have a few suggestions as to how to have it balanced with 0-3.

1) Make it cost [Image: gmana.gif]2 or [Image: gmana.gif]3 - this would mean that a) it couldn't be played on the first turn, thus removing the large amount of mana on turn two problem, and would mean that it takes longer to become profitable.

2) Remove all the sac and destruction stuff - this may work, but I doubt it.

3) Make it generate -1 to 3 - this makes the risk higher, and means that it could cost you mana, instead of doing nothing or generating it.

So... opinions?

RE: GameWhale needs to be Harpooned
1) Was suggested in my first post. Very little comment other than 3[Image: gmana.gif] was unacceptable and 2[Image: gmana.gif] might be acceptable.

2) Was again suggested in my first post. Pretty much got ignored after the wave of suggestion 3)'s that people came up with [read 3)].

3) Closely mentioned first by Xagar in post 11 and then run into wild tangents by others (X% chance to lose -1, lose other color mana, higher chance to gain lower mana values than higher, etc.). No agreement was ever reached as people just kept throwing more and more bizarre alterations to the idea.

Rather than revive what would be a counter-intuitive debate (the title suggests nerfing, not boosting), I'll create another thread for a POSSIBLE boost.
