Errors in the archives
I just finished my rereading of the ADV archives, and I thought I'd keep track of the ones that aren't working properly for reference, in case Webby wants to fix them.

These one displays twice:
http://www.adventurers-comic.com/d/0191.html

These two pages are linked to by the previous and next comics, but have no comic on them:
http://www.adventurers-comic.com/d/20030609.html
http://www.adventurers-comic.com/d/20060413.html

This one has a copy of itself occuring right after it:
http://www.adventurers-comic.com/d/20040503.html

I don't get this one:
http://www.adventurers-comic.com/d/20030327.html

That's a reference to the Atma Weapon in FF6, which does more damage when you have more HP. It's also pointing out the fact that it would be incredibly powerful if used by the Eternals (which have godly HP) on other people, but isn't too impressive the other way around.

RE: Errors in the archives
Totally different weapon. They just happen to share an ability by coincidence.

Also, CMC got Mugendai-Yaiba and Kyuukyoku-Yaiba the wrong way around compared to what clues in the comic imply. The comic establishes the following:
  1. Mugendai-Yaiba the Infinity Blade is the sword Eternion created used during the First Eternal War.
  2. Kyuukyoku-Yaiba is the sword which the other Eternals created and used against Eternion during the First Eternal War, which Eternion took for himself for the Second Eternal War (the one we see in the comic). This sword is also described... somewhere... to be the Terminal Blade.
  3. Argent's unnamed sword was forged to be similar to the one Eternion held during the "war", which pretty clearly refers to the First Eternal War (what I call the Second was really just a series of assassinations and a boss fight), and it deals damage according to the target's power. Thus, Mugendai-Yaiba logically also deals damage according to your enemy's power.
  4. Kyuukyoku-Yaiba's ability is never mentioned in the comic, but it's not out of line to assume that it's similar to Ker's unnamed sword in that it deals damage according to your own power.

RE: Errors in the archives
Actually, most of that is wrong

Mugendai-Yaiba, the Infinity Blade, uses power based on the HP of the wielder. it was destroyed, and reforged as the blade Ker got to fight the Legendary Evil. This is why in CMC it does damage based on your lifepoints.

Kyuukyoku-Yaiba, the Terminal Blade, is infused with the same sort of power as the Melody of Finite. It is an anti-Eternal weapon, which makes an Eternal mortal while it cuts. This is the weapon used to defeat Eternion, and was then got by Eternion and used to take over the Council.

The quip about Argent's sword appears to be a mistake in the comic. It should said "your enemies held during the war". Wonder how I missed that.

RE: Errors in the archives
Well, the "you" in Argent's speech is bolded, implying significance. I understood that as "you of all people should understand the power of this sword, since you first designed it". Also, if Argent meant the Kyuukyoku-Yaiba, it would have been much easier for him to just say "the sword you're wielding right now", since that's much more relevant.

Though the Eternal sword that never resurfaced again having been reforged into Ker's sword does make sense, too.

RE: Errors in the archives
I understood the Atma/Ultima Weapon reference and how it would apply to an Eternal wielding it; I just wasn't following Ardam's train of thought in the second panel. I understand it now, but I don't really see the funny. Not that the comics can all be hilarious or anything.

RE: Errors in the archives
Wait, what am I saying. ADV varies far too much in level of humour to be healthy for the format. Let's do something about it.

Possibly an error, as they both have different case filename extensions... so perhaps one didn't overwrite the other when reuploaded, and Keenspot's automaticomicy stuff pulls them both through because of the beginning of the filename. The second one has a resized speech bubble, so they're not identical.

Wow, that's a pretty subtle difference. Nice catch. I wonder what the story there was.

RE: Errors in the archives
For several of those double-comic comics, the only difference was a fix in Eternion's font.
