ADVENTURERS! Balance Thread

This scores 23.37 Pythons

Trimming it of the Stairway to Heaven reference in the title would help, but it would still be at least 20 pythons. I'm at a loss.

Ultros: I don't know, seems a bit weak. What about Comic #612? Economical, to the point, but not overly funny. The art's maybe a bit good, though.

Legendary: For starters, you could split it into two or three seperate comics. Without the windup space, the punchline and speech just fall flat. Probably split it right after the fifth panel, then again after the eleventh.

I think taken as a whole, the comic has reasonable balance, with the early humor, lack of plot and bad graphics offsetting the long wind-down at the end.

First, let me just say that I can't believe we've sunk to balancing comics...do we miss ADV! that much?

Second, I must say that although it might be better to split Comic #999 into 3 parts, we can't forget that it is a special comic, one so rare as to reach the maximum comic power. Therefore, it must be large and artistic. The bad thing is that the ending is not the highest point. It is the 3rd panel from the end. The comic itself is partly humor, but mostly seriousness in that they've reached the final boss. So, to return to humor after the seriousness somewhat waters it down. I would agree that the last part might have done well as a separate comic, and not appending it to the end of this one.

Also, since we do have a rating system for humor, what about one for seriousness?

Damn, every time I think of it, all that pops out is "SERIOUS BUSINESS" (curse you, curse you....). If there was ever a rating for it...I can't seem to find it, so I nominate skulls, in some pseudo relation to William Shakespeare. For the love of the spoon (no...that's comedy), anyone have a better suggestion?

You could always go for the obvious and rate it in terms of internets (serious business), but that's got a bit of a humor connotation, as in "you won teh internets"...

And Astral thought Yotsuba was too weak to survive an RP...

"Repressed" scored too high on the Python scale. He had to rebalance it.

Come on, we need to pick up the pace.  The "release of the book" tournament is coming up, and we should have some changes agreed upon before then.

So, how about http://www.adventurers-comic.com/d/0219.html?  It looks somewhat underpowered, but the only change I can think of is including the Macarena, which would obviously be just broken.

Actually, I tried to get in a typographical rebalance maybe a month or so to remove unnecessary spelling penalties for the 'release of the book' tournament, but it was deemed to late even then. However, some rebalancing along those lines has been done already, but we'll just have to wait and see exactly what and where.

Note that the earlier ADVENTURERS! comics will have the extra hidden ability of VCH code(s), which are 'release of the book' tourney legal. You've got to consider this before proposing boosts for them.
