Eternion battle level discrepancy?
So I decided to take a random look through the archives again today, and I ended up at the Eternion battle. At the beginning, when Karn makes his party, his level is clearly listed as 54, yet afterwards, when he's dead his level displays as 58, without the 'Level up!' next to it that Ardam got (Ardam got all the exp from that battle, I assume).

Maybe it was one of the Elder Scroll things, and he leveled up from leveling his main skills (In this case, slashing and more slashing, which he did a lot of with those three I-Storms).

There is no plot hole!
He probably got experience for recognizing his ability to transform himself and others. Self-knowledge always leads to power, right?

I wouldn't think that experience was awarded as the battle progressed, but it's possible that experience was awarded when they killed Eternion's first form?

It's probably more likely that webrunner didn't remember the 54 from the beginning by the time he got to the end.

His first form didn't actually "die" in the way Khrima's forms did, though. He transformed, but both forms had one shared hit point pool.

That's crazy-talk.
If I can make a guess: the Eternion battle worked on the RuneScape EXP system where your EXP goes up per point of damage you do as you do it, as opposed to getting it all in one lump sum at the end.
I don't expect that to be the case, either, but I am only guessing.

Obviously, that doesn't work either, Darg. Ardam gained exp at the end, did he not?

Obviously, Webrunner forgot. You try remembering every minor detail.

An effect of the Void-Counter thing makes all party members go up 4 levels. Or I-Angel.

Heh. Void Counter would be more like Void Absorber, there. And I-Angel is already overpowered. >_>

Is EXP-in-a-can useable during battle?

RE: Eternion battle level discrepancy?
You wouldn't think so- it's a rare candy, right? In-battle items are usually temporary. Also, it showed the entire battle, start from finish. No Exp-in-a-Can during it.

RE: Eternion battle level discrepancy?
Maybe Webrunner skipped a round where everybody used EXP-in-a-cans. Including Eternion. He's arrogant you see, so what's one more level for this puny mortal who he's going to kill in a few turns anyway?

RE: Eternion battle level discrepancy?
It's as if certain people are trying to deny all possibilities that might include more scripting/coding that might take place during that particular fight if they were making a fangame based off of it.

I personally think that the gaining levels during the battle idea would add to the "final boss fight, but afterwards ha not really" feel that Eternion's meant to have.

RE: Eternion battle level discrepancy?
Nah. Everyone knows you don't actually gain experience in the final battle.
Giving you levels mid-battle would totally ruin the epic feel of the Eternion fight.

Heck, there's some games where no boss gives you experience.

And those are the scariest kinds of aliens. I mean, bosses. Yes, bosses. No, I haven't been watching too much Red vs Blue. That seems like a strange thing to randomly ask for no reason.
