RE: NightWind's Card Searcher
Ah yeah, that was a debug thing of mine.  It's still under development and may not be stable.
Perhaps you can try again (just now)?  I just bought 3 lowly slimes from 2 different sellers, with all urls opening in the same window.  Popups also reduced.  It seems to work now...
Note: My searcher will now truly buy from stores.  Test at your own risk...
For safety, I've added a "safety mode" option.  If you type "y", it will show alert boxes.  If you type "n", it will show true windows and really buy from stores.

Don't, just yet. Check out the edit I made in the previous post. Didn't expect you to be this fast in responding.

RE: NightWind's Card Searcher
Can you please clarify what you wanted to buy and what happened?  I'll try to reproduce the problem on my end. Â
Oh and I'm adding a safe mode - check my post above. :)
For added safety, it's best to be logged out of CMC whilst testing. Or enter a deck number that doesn't exist...

RE: NightWind's Card Searcher
Steps for reproduction:
Search form, check 'include shop searcher results' and fill in rarity between 100 and 100.
The first result will be #63, Norlaan (prime).
Further down will be #507, Prince Glomp.
Click 'buy from public stores' below Prince Glomp. Enter a deck number, and quantity 5.
It will then proceed with trying to buy you 5 times #63 Norlaan (prime).

RE: NightWind's Card Searcher
Ah, heck.  I'll just put it all in safety mode.  Alert boxes instead of url windows for now.
Going to sleep, will be back tomorrow. Everything in safety mode for now.

RE: NightWind's Card Searcher
I didn't lose anything that I didn't intend to lose. I bought some cards that I'll have a good use for, thank you.

That's a relief. :)
The prince glomp bug is quite deep and will take longer to fix. Going to sleep now, will fix tomorrow.

RE: NightWind's Card Searcher
The bug with Prince Glomp (and any other card which appears second) should now be fixed. I've still kept the safe mode one - thus you will still get alert boxes instead of CMC windows.
When you feel that it is safe enough to test fully with CMC windows, let me know and I'll turn that feature back on.

RE: NightWind's Card Searcher
Now the buy button is gone... My bad, thought you had already went live with it.
Looks like it's working alright. I don't see any harm in making it live, and functional. But you could perhaps keep the debug messages in for a bit.

RE: NightWind's Card Searcher
I've just updated the Wildfire site to so that real CMC windows are now shown. All links will open in the same window.
If you haven't done so already, note that if you are logged into cmc.mrx.ca, the windows will open in cardmasterconflict.com. In that case, it wouldn't buy anything. You will have to login into cardmasterconflict first.
I also haven't tested the cases where you buy all of one type of card - should that be tested?
Also, I'll need to add a disclaimer of some sort. Wonder if disclaimers will protect me from accidental losses? I have thought of paying the losses which are a result of bad coding on my end, but then it would be impossible to track whether the claims are true. I do believe most would not make false claims, but then some could misuse it - especially in the uncertainty of the first week or so of live deployment. (Using an insurance model is unsuitable) Quite a dilemma...I guess I'll just go with an " use at your own risk" disclaimer for now? Will that be fair?

RE: NightWind's Card Searcher
i'm fairly sure no one is going to use it who doesn't know the risks
so i'd say the disclaimer is good enough
also if something goes wrong i'd help you pay back whoever it is needed paying
consider it a donation for all the hard work you put into these projects

RE: NightWind's Card Searcher
Thanks NOLDER. Good to know it's safe.  I have some savings myself I could use in that event - though the thing  is that we can't track who clicked what, so it's quite hard to even prove the most legitimate case.  (Hmm.. now I know why we have EULAs and "those legal things" )

RE: NightWind's Card Searcher
I don't think you should be refunding people. You're not offering a service, you don't make a profit off this. Just make sure it's called 'beta' or 'alpha' somewhere, and you're fine.

RE: NightWind's Card Searcher
What moonfish said. And I'm not going to go trawling through logs for hundreds of sales in the even that something goes wrong and the person doesn't realise until after they've finished the shopping spree...

RE: NightWind's Card Searcher
Searching for through to logs would be too time consuming, I agree.  And this feature would be more of an "at your own risk" thing.  Later on today I'll write up a disclaimer and move over the stuff to the main site. Â
For redundancy, I'll also move my existing card searcher to a backup site and keep my store searcher running so that results can be compared.  I'll take down my store searcher some other time.

I hope you actually mean you'll move/take down the store searcher, because the card searcher is awesome.

RE: NightWind's Card Searcher
For some reason Meck and Kemmit aren't appearing for me when I do a search for Dark (Second Life) monsters. So there might be a problem with the (Second Life) search function.
