Community Coding Project
So Web and I were talking, and we're both interested in starting a community coding project, and we're checking interest. There's a few ideas being kicked around, namely an RPG, a roguelike, or a metroidvania, and we don't know if we're basing it on a library/engine or if we'd build ground up, but we're checking interest first to see what input we get.

So let us know!

I'll set up a Subversion repository when he time comes, btw, so managing should be easy enough

RE: Community Coding Project
I don't know a heck of a lot about coding, but I do know a little, and would gladly help with design.

RE: Community Coding Project
Willing to help, no coding experience. Can probably assist with map design/layout.

Favoring the Metroidvania, but anything is fine.

I know nothing of coding, but I'd gladly test it out for you.

Checking my list 8 times.

RE: Community Coding Project
I would be willing to help if I knew anything about coding...for all that's worth.

RE: Community Coding Project
Similar to the above posts, I'd love to help out, though I know only a little about coding. Favoring RPG or metroidvania.

RE: Community Coding Project
I have a small amount of coding experience, and would be happy to learn more assuming I have the time. I could help with design, too.

RE: Community Coding Project
I'll help, a Metroidvania would be my favoured project too.

I can code and/or provide art assets. Also, music too, but I don't pretend I'm any good at that.

RE: Community Coding Project
Oh yeah, once I can figure out a way to get my guitar and/or keyboard to sound good going into my computer, and if I can get my dad's drum machine, I can make some music for it. And I at least like to think I'm good at composing, if not playing.

RE: Community Coding Project
Depending on what y'all go for, I might have a stab at helping. I currently don't know how to code in any real programming languages, so it comes down to how easy to pick up the choice is.

I'll cheer you on from the sidelines while providing no tangible help what-so-ever. Rock on.

RE: Community Coding Project
I know a small bit about java coding, and can probably learn a language if it's not too complicated.

RE: Community Coding Project
What I'm thinking is probably basing it in Novashell (which apparently just updated!) where I already have some beginner code written for a metroidvania-esque game, or we can start from scratch using something like Pygame (sicne Python is an easy language to deal with)

So has this moved an inch since it was brought up?
'Cause I think I missed this topic and I'd be willing to help out in some noncoding aspects (concept, story, writing, etc.).

RE: Community Coding Project
i'm a professional web devellopper using PHP C# VB and ASP.NET and i learn rather quickly anything else so let me know with a pm if you need any kind of help... i'm a fairly good photoshoper.

so, for whatever you do, drop me a PM.

I've got loads of great ideas too... something for a web based RPG-turn_based-real_time-strategy that would fill the gap between most of the genre already available on the net...

let me know, this could be the opening i've been waiting for!
