ADV! Cosplay! (OMG I'M KHRIMA YAY)
Guess what, guys!

I went to Brisbane's Supanova convention this year. Things have been pretty monotonous over here, everyone cosplaying nothing but Naruto and Bleach and Death Note (especially L, who I love and all, but I don't need 20 of him!) so I decided I'd like to go as something totally unique.

KHRIMA!!

I only got a few shots of myself on my own camera, so I just uploaded my avatar pic for now, waiting to get some better pics from the official con photos or other cosplayers. I'll post some more to my new profile on cosplay.com and give you guys an update later!

My hubby Raahul helped me out for my skit. I told the audience since they might not be familiar with my character (didn't have anyone seem to recognize me all day), I was going to quickly re-enact 3 Adventurers! comic strips for them. Raahul read lines for Argent as we did these 3 strips:

J Walking
Eggs
and
Laundry Day

...that last one involved a costume change of course. Icon_wink That white shirt you see under my robe says "I'm with less evil -->" and I had a pair of boxers on underneath as well (though regrettably, not with orange polka dots)

We definitely had fun, even if no one knew who I was,and the skit went well so maybe it'll inspire someone to come check out the comic!

R

Quite a few - though some people who just like to check out the cosplayers in general asked for a photo without caring who I was. Explaining was a bit tricky before I got to do my bit on the stage.

RE: ADV! Cosplay! (OMG I'M KHRIMA YAY)
Yays for Khrima-ness! ^_^ Maybe if it's feasible, you can add something like "I'm Khrima from adventurers-comic.com or something like that to your costume? Maybe a plastic id/name badge thing pinned to the shoulders? I did that for a pageant once.

And Brisbane, Australia? That's so cool! Hey, I might go there next year for a holiday! There's some in Sydney too if you want to come. I'm glad anime is becoming more and more abundant in Australia.

8 billion awesome points for being teh awesomeness. As for *Nightwind*'s idea, just go with a "Hello, my name is Khrima" sticker with "from Adventurers.com" in smaller print underneath.

If I were only less lazy, me and Flip might have had a Khrima robe finished already.

When my hair was shorter and wilder, I was thinking about cosplaying as Eternion. However, I never figured out how to do the flame effect of the broken mask.

That's easy; rig a butane lighter inside the mask so that it never turns off.
What?

Self-immolation for fun and profit?

Sure why not. Sounds fun, so long as I'm not the self being immolated.

Cosplay as post-sealing Eternion so you only need to worry about making your head look empty, an incomparably easier task.

You could always get a skeleton mask paint the eye part black then stick felt fabric on top. The felt fabric could be shaped like Eternion's flames and have 3 layers: red, orange and yellow then for an added touch, add a single sheet of yellow cellophane to it for the 'flare'. you might want to watch out for the cellophane reflecting the camera flashes though...

Was that a crack that certain people on this forum are ... lacking in gray matter?
If so, then I resemble that remark!

RE: ADV! Cosplay! (OMG I'M KHRIMA YAY)
I love the cute wings. I once thought that a feather duster spray painted black could be used for Khrima's hair, but then there would be too much 'sprout'... well, unless it was somewhat glued. But then there would be a problem of fixing it securely without causing discomfort.
