Odds are that the job is actually a ridiculously important one, so he'll have no choice in the matter but to hire Shadehawk for it. And Shadehawk being broke (and somewhat surrounded by MANTIS) will have no choice but to take the job.

I'm not QUITE convinced of that yet.

We saw in the last chapter that he learned that he needed a "Simple" plan to kill shadey, and what's more simple than "Hey, come here".

If I HAD to pick what he was "meaning for", assuming it's aimed at something specific and not just a "I don't want you to get the wrong idea why I'm laughing", I would say... actually, no, that's my interpretation.
