But the real question is, why were you not using a move on it that dealt more damage? Really, man. No rollout should be flattening Empoleon in three hits before you flatten them with whatever moves you're using.

it has come to my attention that Snorlax cannot breed with Smeargle. And also that any pokemon Smeargle can breed with that could also breed with Snorlax cannot learn Selfdestruct. Am I looking over something Kenn?

I think my dude's move list is cut, metal claw, peck, and bubble beam. Bubble Beam usually beats the tar out of things, but this guy was like "It's not very effective" so I had to switch to one of the crappier ones and then I got smushed.

Is empoleon the 2nd or 3rd stage of evolution? I can never keep track of these things.

Also, what's the Dragonite-equivalent in Platinum? There's one in every game. I want mine.

Snorlax doesn't learn self-destruct as an egg move, then. I'm not sure how he learns it, and I went to look it up...

Apparently it could learn it naturally in either original R/B/Y or through a TM in those same games, but couldn't in G/S/C or any gen after that. Something apparently has happened in D/P to let him get it again by levelling, but serebii and marriland's dexes both confirm this as false even though shoddybattle's simulator says it is true. It may gain it through levelling in platinum but not other games, but I doubt it. It's possible that when inputting moves into shoddy someone put in self-destruct because he remembered him learning it in R/B/Y when he does it, and also possible that there was an event Snorlax release at some point that had the move, or a snorlax in one of the gamecube games that had the move, and shoddy has just listed the wrong source for it (level rather than event).

In fact, since shoddy shows Blissey as learning Wish from levelling, when its well-known that it's only a move on some special "event" Blisseys from a year or two ago, I think it's pretty clear that snorlax got self-destruct from an event and shoddy just doesn't make distinctions between event moves and level moves.

Use the old school lvl 100 trick where you trade moves for EXP and hope you randomly get self destruct.

Use... um... what?

i remember reading that level 100 pokemon could do something to get new EVs but.....moves? i'm lost.

Snorlax can learn it in Agate Village in Pokemon XD.
Which is why I asked for someone to teach Snorlax Selfdestruct for me.

She went from sucking horribly when I missed double-slap to punching everything in the face stupendously hard. Also I have a Ralts that evolved into a Kirlia and now has Magical Leaf, which is an attack that has owned my face over and over and over…

Anyways! The magnificent party of POW, after many long commutes, Laundromat trips, and general depressing moments:

Pippy – Prinplup, level 26
Cheeps – Staravia, level 26
Twister – Onix, level 26
Spooks – Haunter, level 26
It – Kirlia, level 24
Twinkle – Clefairy, level 24

I am in some town full of cowboys. Why are they cowboys? I don’t know. They might also be farmers. I’m pretty sure at least one of the pairs that attacked me were a father and daughter who are a little TOO close.

Also, I found a Daycare. WTF is the point of this thing? What does it do? If I leave my shitty Psyduck with them, will I come back to a motherfucker in a few weeks? What?

Providing the daycare hasn't changed since the earlier games, it can be used to level up your pokemon and if you leave two of them and they both happen to be in the same egg group, you can breed pokemon. If / when they level up, if they happen to learn a new move, the oldest one will be deleted to make room for the new one. They don't evolve though. So your psyduck may gain better stats / moves, it will still be a psyduck.

They gain experience per step you make, so playing the game will level it up while being comatose will not.

It costs $100 + $100X to reclaim the pokémon, where X is the number of levels gained.

New moves on level up are automatically learned, deleting the topmost move and shifting the other three up a slot.

You can breed pokémon there, but this is more something for people more into the game. You can get a lot more customisability with movesets and control over IVs and Natures and so on through doing it, but if you're playing more casually it's kinda a waste of time.

Don't forget: Daycare + Ditto = Non-legendary Pokemon duplication center.

And one semi-lengendary.

Rotom isn't legendary at all and manaphy doesn't duplicate, it makes Phiones.
