By scanning himself, he can have the computer retrieve alternate dimensional dopplegangers from any world in which a Francis Gateman exists, thus creating an army. I just went by the chapter name, I didn't count any of them (though I suppose with 34 Earths only 33 would be alternate, and presumably with Santa doesn't exist on this one, so I was doomed to be wrong from the start).
