I might have to take that back. I don't like the art style they used for the donkeys in episode 44 (and for that matter the mule all the way back in episode 4). The zebra was portrayed as essentially a pony with stripes, complete with cutie mark. The donkeys (and mule) were drawn in a totally different art style, all with dull colors and no cutie mark, and generally looked boring and not-so-cute.
