What's this? a BC member actually MAKING a balance thread? Has the world gone topsy turvy?
Yes, it has.
So, in earlier discussion today, these two came up as surprisingly bad cards. Oh, sure, they look good at first, but... let's look at them a bit closer.
Giant Snowman is 7 mana with 5 sac and a beefy 85/85 attack/life... only before you can attack, you pay 2 -more- mana. So it's essentially 9 mana if it gets exactly one attack. But with stats like that? And it costs more if you want to attack a second, third, fourth, fifth, etc turn.
Dash Breakneck, in the meantime, is 10 mana for 86/86, with no drawback. And normal grey sac, don't forget.
So Giant Snowman is better than Dash if you only attack with it once as you're losing all of 1/1 in stats, but keeping a mana. But think about it... with stats like those? There's a decent chance you can get two attacks in, perhaps even more. In fact, you're probably not getting your money's worth if you only get to attack once with an 85/85. But if you -do- swing more than once, you're being over charged thanks to that extra maintenance cost. Kind of sucks.
Sure, you're paying that extra 4 (or more) mana -later-, you don't need that initial investment so you can get the snowman out a turn earlier, but is it really all that worth it? Constant mana drain like that can seriously start to hurt. And unless you sac it before even attacking, you can't even make up half what you lost.
Parade Robot is a very similar story, having all of 23 life over Evil JM, but -6 sac and that painful maintenance.
At the very least, these two need normal sacs. I'd actually suggest giving them a little more bang for their buck (either in addition to or instead of a sac increase), considering you're paying for them over and over and over again.
...I'd actually probably also like to see them in different cost brackets while we're at it as they're very similar and Dark could use that kind of drawback/reward monster in other card brackets, but this may not be the time/place for that.
