A Speed Blur Effect?
I wonder what people would think about making Blur Effect speed A instead of C.

Blur Effect 3G
Spell
Dizzy target entity
C

Blur Effect is the only card available to the public that dizzies entities (Most people cannot easily obtain Downtime).

It costs one mana more than FMV (2L dizzy target creature. Also speed C).

There are many cards that dizzy creatures.

Kelar Sage
Thundermancy
Holy Peacemancer
FMV
Sparks
AN-52
Selection Committee
SWIMSUIT!!
Archangel Dominic (sort of)
Scorpion (sort of)
Slime Dragon (sort of)
Earth Elemental
Stone Maze (sort of)
Star Slime

(14 cards total.)

Aside from Downtime, Blur Effect is the only other card that can dizzy entities. Based on this (and my own selfish motives), I think that it should be speed A. This way, it can dizzy all effects before they can use their abilities (as long as it is your turn). I guess you could think of Blur Effect as a low-powered, non-destructive version of Fire The Main Cannon! (A speed) which destroys target entity.

RE: A Speed Blur Effect?
A-speed?? Uh, no. The ability to dizzy target effect or creature is easily worth one mana more than the ability to dizzy target creature I\'d say. (And it\'s grey, for that matter.) I see no need to add a speed boost too. Unless you\'re proposing we also make FMV A-speed, in which case you\'re proposing more of a metagame change and I\'d have to think harder.

RE: A Speed Blur Effect?
I\'m just thinking that because it is the only card that can dizzy effects it should be able to dizzy all effects.

RE: A Speed Blur Effect?
Perhaps a new card should be made that dizzies only effects and has a lower cost but A speed.

RE: A Speed Blur Effect?
Would that really be useful though? Even at 1 mana, I don\'t think I\'d put effect-dizziers in my decks under normal circumstances. Maybe it\'d make a better creature ability than spell?

RE: A Speed Blur Effect?
Besides, downtime only dizzies effects, and at D speed, as it is now.

If you want a spell, think of this...

1[Image: gmana.gif]
\"insert spiffy name here\"
Cast Spell
If target effect is dizzy, it is indizzied.
If it is undizzy, it is dizzied.

You should call it \"Twiddle\" (=B

RE: A Speed Blur Effect?
Only reasoning I see for not having effect dizziers is because the existence of effect destructors. It can\'t be that hard to gather up five mana, six being light. There aren\'t that many effects that would warrant dizzying as to just destroying it.
Like with creatures, you use a dizzier to protect a card or prevent something from happening. Indeed, it is unfortunate that there are effects with a higher speed, but you can say the same for creatures.

RE: A Speed Blur Effect?
Aldgar\'s \"Twiddle\" should probably cost more than 1, shouldn\'t it? You can\'t really control how many dizziable effects your opponent plays, but you can certainly control how many undizziable effects YOU play. I could even see using it on Slime Valley in a pinch, and it\'d be obviously quite powerful used on a sword or cane. Good fun with a Beacon too...the burrower/undizzy combo for effects.
