Yeah. Villains will steal something if it catches their eye as valuable, but only heroes make it their mission to loot every single house on the planet.

And yet no one ever seems to complain, despite the fact that some hero has gone and nicked off with their entire life savings

Of course, NP's can't be considered too bright either, who hides 100s of dollars in crates, large cermaic jars or the like?

Basic Flying Rules: "Try to stay in the middle of the air. Do not go near the edges of it. The edges of the air can be recognised by the appearance of ground, buildings, sea, trees, and interstellar space. It is much more difficult to fly there."

My favorite has to be the innkeeper in Lufia 3.

I snuck into the inn through the (sorta hidden) back door, looted all his treasure boxes, and talked to him from behind the counter. His response? "You are the first people to enter from there. I like you. You can stay for free."

In Computer RPGs though, the heroes usually have to be careful not to get caught stealing if someone is watching.

Then, of course, you've got Link's Awakening. Steal from a shopkeeper, you're branded a theif and fried if you go in another shop.

Still, that's not really the norm.

There was that comic where the girl taking piano lessons was afraid to complain because Karn's sword was bigger than she was. And hey, if I hid my cash in plain-looking vases or boxes, it'd be pretty safe from thieves.

Well, he must be cognitivelly challenged, since most people who see non-employees come through the "Employee's Only" door usually yell at them to leave, or at least explain in small, monosyllabic words what "Employees Only" means...
Of course, we're also talking about worlds that regularly feature mutated animals, flying castles, walking statues, bullet-proof-but-not-sword-proof armor and people who rise from the dead more often than a George Romero movie. So, as Ardam would be "keen" to point out, logic has no place here, and any sane character won't stay that way for long.

Or they'd adopt a form of sanity that works for the world involved, which I expect would be Ardam's goal post-game. It may not make physical sense, but I expect there's some sort of explanation for it all.

Chookie's epilogue has to be the most surreal yet. I'm not sure if any of the others will compare.

The Smurfs reference reminded me of Punks and Nerds because they did a Smurfs gag which reminded me of Donnie Darko because that movie also had a Smurfs reference. My trains of thought are odd that way.

Did this ACTUALLY happen? Chookie has been known to tell silly stories before.

I dunno, Chookie is a hero in his own rite, now. Too bad he isn't a hero to his own kind, in that sense.

I agree, it is the best epilogue yet. Although I have high hopes for Spybot and Gildward.

Hm, looks like something you'd get if you mixed Chu-Chu or some other cute thing....with The Punisher: something cute looking, yet more dangerous than any beast around. And with guns named Sugarpuff and Sweetiepie...I'd almost want to play Chookie's sequel (which you know they would come out with a few years after the game was made...) just for the 'story'.
