The one at the top bothers me, it takes up a fair bit of space gets in the way when casually browsing the index page. (I usually scroll through the forum list watching for "new post" icons to see if there's anything I haven't read yet.) Neither contains information that greatly interests me, and the stuff in the bottom-of-forum overview seems to be the same as what can be seen at forum statistics.
