RE: NightWind's Card Searcher
Ignacio, I have fixed the problem you mentioned.
Can I please have you, Ignacio confirm by posting here that all the sort functions work?
The test site with sortby (total sac - total mana cost) is here. Can you also please let me know if it works as expected.
Please note that I have reworded "total cost" to "total mana cost" in the hopes of making it less confusing.

RE: NightWind's Card Searcher
I tried just searching for locations and it worked, even with the "Include store searcher results" box checked.

RE: NightWind's Card Searcher
It works with card type (the drop down box) but not entity type (where you have to actually type it in).

RE: NightWind's Card Searcher

I was trying to work that in my mind but couldn't come up as to why, but yeah, that sounds like the case.

RE: NightWind's Card Searcher
Yeah, it seems like locations are a type of card, but not an entity type. Reference here.
If masa or someone from the CMC team can shed some light on this, that'd be wonderful.
Meanwhile, I'm going to leave my cardsearcher as is - the database and the csc data source both have the entity as blank.

RE: NightWind's Card Searcher
Well it's the same with spells. If you type spell in there it won't work. If you type Effect in there it won't pick up untyped effects either. This isn't really a bug...
It's like... well, entity type has been a bit of a misnomer ever since modifiers were introduced.
I suppose there are 'Types', which consist of Monster, Effect, Spell, Location, Modifier.
And then there are 'Subtypes' which consist of Robots, Generators, Paladins, Elves, Bards, Artifacts, and so on.

RE: NightWind's Card Searcher
so there are...card types and there are card type...descriptors
that's the best way i can think to put it
actually the thing that kind of confuses me sometimes is the different types of modifiers

RE: NightWind's Card Searcher
Yeah, modifier types are just like monster or effect types (basically, entity types, but it's not an entity...).
You get weapons and generators and so on, just like monsters and effects.
And a blank modifier is "Attach Modifier...", just like a blank effect is "Create Effect".
It's only confusing because we're used to the term "entity type".

RE: NightWind's Card Searcher
I seem to recall the "Do not display card images" option as displaying the getcards without displaying the art for the cards shown, but apparently it just doesn't show the getcard, making the only difference between it and "Only return list of card names" that this shows the cards in the usual three-to-a-row table format rather than in a list.

Very close, but not entirely - the original intent was to hide the images, yes, but also hide the card structure (mana symbols etc). But over time, this option and "show list of names only" became too similar to each other - which is where we are at now.
Originally, I wanted to use getcard, but later, I wrote my own getcard module. Still looks the same, though I get more customisation on my end.
Thus, if you want, I could have the 'do not display card images' option turn off only the square/rectangle pictures, and still keep the mana symbols/speed symbols etc. In other words, it'll look like the card has a hole/blank image as cardart.
Is that what you are requesting or is it something else?

RE: NightWind's Card Searcher
Yeah, that's along the lines of what I'm after please - still letting you see everything the card does, just without the large images so as to load it all faster.

RE: NightWind's Card Searcher
Hmm... it seems that yes, I could just take out the card picture whilst keeping the same dimensions... I will make a repost when that's done.

RE: NightWind's Card Searcher
masa, test stie has been set up here so that the card images are replaced by a 1x1 grey pixel image that gets stretched out. Let me know if looks and works okay for you and if there is a better way to represent the grey box area. I had thought of putting the words "Image not displayed" but that is not very resizable for the different extended cardarts and also takes longer to load.

Do the search results load quickly enough for you?
