RE: NightWind's Card Searcher
Checked the sandbox site (it took me this long to realize you linked it in your recent posts, seriously) and the yourname + gn='center' errors appear to be corrected. Can't remember if there was anything else that needed checked or not.
Also, new card.

'pretty decent' maybe, but not by any means actually 'good'.

The new card looks really cool. The database has been updated with the new card and all.
Also deployed the most recent bugfixes to the main sites.

RE: NightWind's Card Searcher
The searcher's not working for me right now. Is anyone else having problems with it?

This is strange, I did some regression testing this morning and was sure it worked. Sandbox2 is also down...
Will check and repost.

RE: NightWind's Card Searcher
The reason why the cardsearcher doesn't work is because of the nofeehost server.
When I uploaded the new data this morning, I tried testing with Argent - all results came back fine regardless of whether storesearcher results were to be returned.
I've tried various things including uploading an older version of the database (fromt the 12th) and we are still seeing the same problems. Debugging doesn't seem to bring me anywhere closer the issue. The fixes (assuming that the error is indeed the true sources of the problem) are all outside of my control because this is not my server.
All other apps are working fine because they don't connect to the database.
What I will be doing now is checking regularly to see if nofeehost fixes this. There has been previous situations where nofeehost changes something on their servers, thus stuffing everyone up and a day or two later it was fixed by them.
I'm really hoping that judging by the above that this is really nofeehosts problem. I'm at wits end.
And I'm also hoping this is not one of their ploys to get us account users to purchase their paid accounts.
If bad comes to worse, I might move servers as none of the free servers I've used so far stay free for long anyway. It's as if this is going to happen sooner or later - with nofeehost being the one that was free the longest. Problem is, there aren't many out there which meet all the necessary requirements to host the cardsearcher. And I don't want to have to rewrite the entire cardsearcher to read a text file as a database.
For now, you guys will have to rely on this for store searches.
If you are looking to do a query like find all dark monsters with mana between 6 and 14 and has abilities etc, I'm happy to do that for you - I'll run the query on my local database, which I have full access to and send back the results to you. This can also be done for store searches. You can post your requests here or you can go via PM.
Edit: Expect a status update from me in the next few days.

RE: NightWind's Card Searcher
Hmm... I could always write a tempoary store searcher that can work without the database. It might have lesser features but it'll do for now.
*rolls up sleeves*
Expect a store searcher to be deployed tonight.

RE: NightWind's Card Searcher
For the past year, my store searcher has been integrated into my cardsearcher. but with the cardsearcher suffering unknown database issues which are out of my control, I have tempoarily rebuilt the classic store searcher.
The classic version can be found here
More features such as name and delimited search to come later through the weekend.
It's unsure how long the full feature cardsearcher will be down. But at least you can still search for cards using this classic searcher!
Classic store searcher currently can only search by id. Name and id delimited search to come tomorrow.

RE: NightWind's Card Searcher
The classic version of the store searcher will be running till the card searcher database problem is fixed by the nofeehost staff. It is unsure how long this problem will last for. Meanwhile, any updates regarding the cardsearcher will be posted here. Any updates for the classic store searcher will be in the thread linked here.

RE: NightWind's Card Searcher
WAAHHHHOOOOO!
The database is up and running again! Nofeehost has fixed the problem! No searching for another server, no having to rewrite it all in php!
*kisses nofeehost*
And this is whilst I'm listening to My Heart Will Go On! It's as if my server is speaking to me!
Let me know if the server crashes again - I expect not, but just in case.
Also, I'll be keeping the classic store searcher up for things like this.

RE: NightWind's Card Searcher
Got this error several times today:
Quote:Active Server Pages error 'ASP 0113'
Script timed out
/nightwind/cardsearcher/results.asp
The maximum amount of time for a script to execute was exceeded. You can change this limit by specifying a new value for the property Server.ScriptTimeout or by changing the value in the IIS administration tools.
And now it's working again.

Strange how that's happening. The database and code looks fine as before. I'm assuming this is a warmup issue with ASP. Any online ASP page on has the problem of where if the page isn't accessed for over 20 mins, it's cache allocation is deleted from the server, meaning that the next time someone accesses the page, it will most likely timeout. Anyone after can view the page without timeout because it has warmed up. If lots of people access it in frequent intervals, the page will stay forever warm. Most likely the times you tried were the ones where you were the first to access it when it had cooled down.
If this continues for the week, post here and I'll see if I can get a fix for it.
Also, cardsearcher updated to include newest.

RE: NightWind's Card Searcher
I noticed this a few days ago but figured no big deal as it may just be my computer flipping out. Happened again today.
Searched once more and the thing that happened a week ago or so popped back up.

The problem is clearly caused by you using imageshack instead of photobucket.

I use photobucket, I just don't use it for screenshots. And I doubt that is the problem. >_>

RE: NightWind's Card Searcher
Ah, nice spotting - probably an unclosed table tag. Should be fixable without creating even more bugs (not the Xmas kind). I'll post when it's fixed so that you can confirm.
Thanks Jess.
