Well, since you brought it up, I always thought the links were kinda annoying and redundant, but that might be because I come here only after reading the new comic to avoid spoilers. Plus, I've got the comic easily bookmarked, so if I need to go back and look at it, I can just drop it into a new tab.
So, Gluon huh? Makes me think of a combination of Iron Man (the suit), Goblin (the name) and The Hulk (the origins of his powers) with just a hint of Havok for flavor (the powers themselves).
Also, nuclear powered car engines is totally plausible in the future.
